چکیده

We reconsider the composite fermion theory of general Jain's sequences with filling factor $\nu=N/(4N\pm1)$. show that Goldman and Fradkin's proposal a Dirac leads to violation Haldane bound on coefficient static structure factor. To resolve this apparent contradiction, we add effective gapped chiral mode (or modes) which already exists in Fermi liquid state at $\nu=1/4$. interpret additional as an internal degree freedom fermion, related area-preserving deformations elementary droplet built up from electrons correlation holes. In addition providing suitable factor, our model also gives expected Wen-Zee shift Hall conductivity manifests Galilean invariance. charge density satisfies long-wavelength version Girvin-MacDonald-Platzman algebra.

Composite fermion theory of rapidly rotating two-dimensional bosons

Ultracold neutral bosons in a rapidly rotating atomic trap have been predicted to exhibit fractional quantum Hall-like states. We describe how the composite fermion theory, used in the description of the fractional quantum Hall effect for electrons, can be applied to interacting bosons. Numerical evidence supporting the formation of composite fermions, each being the bound state of a boson and ...

A two-dimensional Dirac fermion microscope

The electron microscope has been a powerful, highly versatile workhorse in the fields of material and surface science, micro and nanotechnology, biology and geology, for nearly 80 years. The advent of two-dimensional materials opens new possibilities for realizing an analogy to electron microscopy in the solid state. Here we provide a perspective view on how a two-dimensional (2D) Dirac fermion...

Tunable Dirac Fermion Dynamics in Topological Insulators

Three-dimensional topological insulators are characterized by insulating bulk state and metallic surface state involving relativistic Dirac fermions which are responsible for exotic quantum phenomena and potential applications in spintronics and quantum computations. It is essential to understand how the Dirac fermions interact with other electrons, phonons and disorders. Here we report super-h...

Chiral scars in chaotic Dirac fermion systems.

Do relativistic quantum scars in classically chaotic systems possess unique features that are not shared by nonrelativistic quantum scars? We report a class of relativistic quantum scars in massless Dirac fermion systems whose phases return to the original values or acquire a 2π change only after circulating twice about some classical unstable periodic orbits. We name such scars chiral scars, t...

Is the Dirac Particle Composite?

Classical model SDcl of the Dirac particle SD is constructed. SD is the dynamic system described by the Dirac equation. For investigation of SD and construction of SDcl one uses a new dynamic method: dynamic disquantization. This relativistic purely dynamic procedure does not use principles of quantum mechanics. The obtained classical analog SDcl is described by a system of ordinary differentia...
